Did you know July 5th is the busiest day at pounds? More animals get loose on the 4th of July than any other day. The 4th can be a frightening day for animals. Loud explosions coming from unknown sources (fireworks) can have your animals scrambling to get loose and find a secure place.
Please take these necessary precautions for your pets.
-Make sure all animals are wearing identification tags, and are microchipped.
-Keep pets indoors in a spot they feel secure in. Do not drag them to firework festivities.
-Play calming music for your pet or leave the tv on to drown out the sound of fireworks.
-Keep pets clear of barbecues, and citronella candles.
-Give your pet a treat or toy to keep them happily distracted.
