A Great Boy!

Butch Cassidy is a prime example of what can happen when a dog is bought home without giving it any thought. We are sure Butch Cassidy's original family had good intentions when they added the adorable little furball to their home, after all, who could resist his fuzzy little face and pudgy body! But when Butch began to grow, his puppy cuteness wore off (we think he's more handsome than ever!), and he didn't receive the training that puppies need, he was tossed out into the backyard. The people that were supposed to love and adore him, tied him to a tree, and never uttered a word to him again, except to tell him to 'shut up'! Luckily for Butch Cassidy, a guardian angel in the form of his next-door-neighbor, kept an eye on him. She spoke the only kind words that Butch would hear for the first three years of his life. She made sure that Butch Cassidy always had something to eat and water to quench his thirst. She bought him dog houses to shelter him from the weather, and when he outgrew them, she would buy him a larger one. And then one day, on a visit to her local pound, who should she see staring back at her from a cage, but Butch. Knowing all that he had been through, Butch's guardian angel couldn't bear to see him in that cage, so she reached out to Little Shelter for help. After hearing his story, we could not refuse, and so Butch made the journey to the safety of Little Shelter. Butch has flourished with the love and attention he has received in our care. We've discovered that he is very smart, and learns new tricks very quickly. He loves to go for walks, play ball, and then sit at the picnic benches where he likes to lean into the legs of his favorite people. Butch also likes to 'live it up' with celebrities. In fact, one morning when he made his debut on Fox News, he could be found rubbing shoulders with Deborah Harry when she gave him a pat on the head and a tickle under the chin, and then smooching in the green room with Judge Alex. Butch's start to life was one of neglect, and now he longs for a home where he will be loved and cherished. Butch needs a home without small children, and a home without cats. Please consider giving Butch Cassidy the love he deserves.

We spay and neuter all of our animals as soon as is medically possible. The minimal adoption donation paid upon adoption includes all the medical procedures that we have done on the animal being adopted,
including the spaying and neutering.
